What We Believe

The mission of Equip FM (WEQP) is glorify God, to proclaim His plan of salvation in Jesus Christ, and to edify, encourage, and equip the Body of Christ, His church, for ministry through expository Bible teaching and Christ-centered music. We seek unity in the Body of Christ, always working to build up and never to destroy. Our mission and philosophy of ministry is based on our belief that:

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures”

I Corinthians 15:3-4

GOD is the only true and living God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; and that this Triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all. (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1, 14; Acts 5:3-4)

JESUS CHRIST is the foundation and cornerstone of the church. He came to restore man’s broken relationship with God, and His finished work on the cross makes that possible. Because of His love demonstrated on the cross, we now have reason to fellowship with one another and proclaim salvation through His life, death, and resurrection. (Revelation 22:13, Matthew 1:23, Matthew 11:2-5, I Peter 2:24, I Corinthians 15:3-5, Acts 1:9-11, Matthew 24:29-31)

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8 (NIV)

THE HOLY SPIRIT proceeds forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower in ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit in the church today. (Acts 1:8, John 14:16-17, 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 1 Corinthians 3:16)

THE BIBLE containing all the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, and that it is the infallible rule of faith and practice. (II Timothy 3:16; I Peter 1:21)
