Giving Tuesday is an international holiday in which, traditionally, the public is invited to donate financially to nonprofits they support.
This year, Gleaning For The World, a Concord-based nonprofit is offering a unique way to give on Giving Tuesday.
They’re asking supporters to give their time!
While financial donations are always appreciated, the ultimate goal for Gleaning For The World on this day of giving is to invite supporters to give of their time through volunteering in the nonprofit’s temperature controlled Volunteer Center warehouse.
For 12 consecutive hours, from 7am until 7pm on Tuesday, November 28, Gleaning is opening their Volunteer Center to the public for a volunteer open house! There will be a variety of volunteer activities to choose from and you can decide if you want to volunteer for 30 minutes, half a day, or all 12 hours! Bring your own breakfast or lunch or enjoy the available light refreshments.
You’re invited to volunteer alone, with a friend or two, or make new friends while helping make a difference with Gleaning For The World. Dress is casual (and comfortable, closed toed shoes are required)!
Additionally, if you are interested in simply touring the facility to learn more about Gleaning For The World and it’s initiatives, please stop by for a tour between 7am and 7pm on Giving Tuesday. If you have any questions about the upcoming volunteer open house on Giving Tuesday, or volunteer opportunities in general, please call Gleaning For The World at 434-993-3600, email info@gftw.org, or reach out through messenger on Facebook or Instagram.
